Michele

Michele. There is real depth and history in that name.

Michele has its roots in Hebrew, in one of the most profound questions ever posed as a name - Mi cha El - meaning who is like God. It's a rhetorical question, really. One that carries wonder and reverence all at once. And you carry that every single day.

The name arrived in France in the 1500s as a feminine form of Michael, and it settled beautifully into French culture before spreading across the world. You may also recognize it in its other forms - Michelle with the double L, or Michaela, or the Spanish and Italian Micaela. All distinct, all connected, all sharing that same remarkable meaning at their core.

Michele had its peak of popularity in the 1960s - and not unrelated to that, the Beatles released Michelle in 1966. One of Paul McCartney's most tender melodies, sung partly in French, as if the name itself inspired something romantic and timeless. It remains one of the most beloved songs they ever wrote.

And then there is Michele Obama - a woman who carried this name onto the world stage with grace, intelligence, and extraordinary strength. If you share her name, you are in genuinely wonderful company.

People named Michele are often described as strong, confident, and deeply compassionate. A combination that is rarer than it sounds. The kind of person who leads with both conviction and kindness.

Michele. Ancient in its roots, French in its elegance, and entirely yours. What a name to have.
