Privacy
The short version. This site has no accounts, no sign-ups and no adverts. It sets no cookies. It does not know who you are, and it has nothing to sell about you.
Cookies
yourname sets none. That is why there is no cookie banner — there is nothing to ask you to consent to.
One small thing is stored in your browser: a note that you have already been shown a name's story, so the panel does not reopen every time you come back to the same name. It lives in your tab and is gone when you close it. It contains no identifier and never leaves your browser.
Visitor numbers
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views. It is cookieless, it does not fingerprint your device, and it does not follow you to other websites. It tells yourname how many people read a page — not which people.
When you click a product
Clicking a product records which product it was, which name you were looking at, and the time. This is how yourname can tell which products people actually want.
Alongside that, a one-way hash of your IP address and browser string is stored — mixed with a value that changes every day. The IP address itself is never written down. The hash is enough to tell one visit from another within a single day, and useless as an identifier the day after. It cannot be reversed to find you.
That is the whole of it. No profile, no history across days, nothing sold or shared.
When you leave
A product link takes you to Zazzle, or to another merchant whose products appear here. The moment you arrive, you are covered by their privacy policy, not this one — and they will know considerably more about you than yourname does. The affiliate disclosure explains what is and is not passed back.
Fonts are served by Google Fonts, and some product images come from the merchant's own image servers. Loading a file from another company's server tells them your IP address, as it would on any website.
If you write to [email protected], your email sits in a mailbox until it is dealt with. It is not added to a list, because there is no list.
Children
This site is not directed at children. It sells personalised gifts, and buying them takes a payment card, so the people it is for are adults.
That said, a name is exactly the sort of thing a child might look up, and children are welcome to read about theirs. Nothing here asks for a name, an age, an email address or anything else — reading a name's story requires you to tell yourname nothing at all. The click record described above is anonymous by construction and cannot identify a child any more than it can identify an adult.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has somehow sent personal information to this site, write to [email protected] and it will be deleted.
Getting things removed
Ask, and it goes. [email protected].
There is a practical limit worth knowing: the click records contain nothing that can be traced back to you, so there is no way to find "your" rows in order to delete them. That is a consequence of not collecting anything identifying in the first place.
