About the name Kelli

Kelli. There is something bright and alive about this name the moment you say it. And when you learn where it comes from, that energy makes complete sense.

Kelli is rooted in the Gaelic language of Ireland, and it traces back all the way to the Middle Ages. Its meaning is slender, which in the old Celtic tradition carried a sense of grace and elegance, a kind of natural ease in the way you move through the world. Not a bad thing to have woven into your name.

You might also see this name written as Kelly or Kellie, and all of these forms share that same spirited Irish soul. A name that traveled far from the green hills of Ireland and found its way into hearts all around the world.

Kelli had its biggest moment in the 1980s, a decade full of boldness and energy, and that feels just right for a name like this. Because the personality traits that tend to follow Kelli are bright, energetic, and adventurous. The kind of person who lights up a room without even trying.

And the women named Kelli have certainly lived up to that. Kelli O'Hara, the Tony Award winning Broadway star, whose voice has moved audiences to tears. Kelli Berglund, the actress who brought charm and talent to every role she stepped into. Your name is in wonderful company.

Kelli. A name with Irish roots, a graceful meaning, and enough warmth and spark to fill any room. That is a name worth knowing.
