Jacquelyn

Jacquelyn is a French name, and it carries the meaning of one who follows through, one who is determined, one who finds a way. That is a quietly powerful thing to have at the heart of your name. It speaks to someone who does not give up.

The name emerged in the nineteen hundreds as a beautifully distinctive feminine form of the French tradition, and it reached its peak of popularity in the nineteen sixties - a decade that, not coincidentally, gave the world one of the most iconic women to ever carry this name. Jacqueline Kennedy - graceful, intelligent, unshakeable - brought a global spotlight to this name and wore it with extraordinary dignity. Then there is Jacqueline Bisset, the celebrated actress whose poise became legendary, and Jacqueline Wilson, the beloved British author who has touched the lives of millions of young readers.

This name has real company.

Jacquelyn is considered uncommon today, which means those who carry it stand apart. It is not a name you hear every day. And that is a gift. It means something when someone remembers a name like yours - because it is worth remembering.

People named Jacquelyn are often described as confident and determined - the kind of person with both vision and the will to see it through.
