Molly

Molly. What a beautiful name to carry through life. Molly has roots that go all the way back to Hebrew, traveling through centuries of history before finding its Irish home. It began as a pet form of Mary, a name deeply woven into the fabric of the medieval world, and it carried with it a meaning that is perhaps surprising at first glance. Molly means "bitter" - but not bitter the way you might think. In ancient Hebrew, that bitterness spoke of depth, of resilience, of a life fully felt. Some also say it carries the meaning of "a wished-for child" - and honestly, that feels just right for a name this warm and beloved. And Molly is beloved. It peaked in popularity during the 1990s, but the truth is, Molly has never really gone out of style. There is something about this name that just feels alive. People who carry the name Molly are often described as outgoing and affectionate - the kind of person who lights up a room simply by being in it. The kind of person others gravitate toward. In culture, Molly has left her mark too. Molly Ringwald became an icon of a whole generation. And who could forget Molly from Peter Pan - adventurous, spirited, full of heart. So if your name is Molly, know this - your name has traveled across languages, across centuries, across continents, to land with you. And it suits you beautifully.
