Mckenzie

Mckenzie. What a name to carry through the world. This name reaches all the way back to the misty highlands of Scotland, born from the Gaelic tradition during the Middle Ages. At its heart, Mckenzie means "son of Kenneth" - and Kenneth itself comes from the Gaelic word for "handsome" or "born of fire." So there is something bright and fierce woven right into the very root of this name. Mckenzie began as a proud Scottish clan name - one of those surnames that carried the identity of a whole family line, a whole way of life. Over the centuries, it crossed oceans and transformed into something people chose for their children. And what a choice it is. By the 2000s, Mckenzie had become a name for anyone - boys, girls, and everyone in between - because great names have a way of outgrowing categories. You might also know it as Mackenzie, or the affectionate short form, Kenzie - each one carrying the same strong heartbeat underneath. People named Mckenzie tend to move through life with real confidence and a natural sense of adventure. There is a determined quality here - someone who sets their sights on something and simply does not stop. Actress Mckenzie Davis, and football quarterback Mckenzie Milton both carry this name into the spotlight - each one in their own way living out exactly that spirit. Mckenzie. A name from the Scottish highlands that somehow feels like it was built for wherever you are standing right now.
