The name Max. Short, sharp, and absolutely unforgettable. Max comes from Latin roots, and it carries one of the most powerful meanings a name can hold. It means the greatest. Not great. The greatest. There's a confidence built right into this name from the very first syllable.

Max grew out of the longer German name Maximilian, which has been carried by kings and emperors across European history. But here's what's beautiful about Max today. It no longer needs the full name behind it. It stands completely on its own. Bold, clean, and strong. Just three letters that say everything.

And it's worth knowing that this name travels well across cultures. Maximilian in German and Austrian tradition, Maximo in Spanish-speaking cultures, each version carrying that same core energy, that same sense of greatness, into a different corner of the world. Your name belongs to a global family.

Now, the people who share this name. Max Planck, one of the founding fathers of quantum physics, a man who genuinely changed how we understand the universe. These are people who showed up, pushed hard, and left a mark.
