Marcy

Marcy. This name has roots that go all the way back to ancient Rome - and that is not something every name can say. They meant something. They carried weight. Marcy arrived in medieval England as a form of Marcia, but somewhere along the way it stepped out of the shadow of its longer cousin and became its own name entirely. A name that stands on its own two feet. Its great moment of popularity came in the 1950s and 1960s - a wonderful era of bold, classic names with real character. Today Marcy is less common, which honestly makes it more special. When someone is named Marcy, you notice.
