Luz

Your name is Luz, and it means “light.” Simple, but powerful. “Light” is the kind of word that makes people look up, breathe easier, and feel oriented, like hope has a direction.

Luz has Spanish and Latin roots. It began as a title in ancient Rome, and then became a given name later, especially across Spanish-speaking regions. That long path matters, because your name is part of a tradition that values clarity and guidance.

You may also hear related forms that feel like different lanterns in different places: Lucía, Lucy, and Luzia. They sound distinct enough to feel like relatives of your name, not copies.

In modern culture, Luz is easy to spot, from artists like Luz Rios to characters like Luz Noceda in The Owl House. And in everyday life, your name keeps showing up, steadily rising in the United States, especially in Hispanic communities.

So when someone says “Luz,” they are not just saying your name. They are saying a meaning that travels. You are, in every introduction, a signal for clarity, comfort, and friendly courage.
