Ivy

Your name is Ivy. Simple, strong, and quietly beautiful. Ivy comes from Old English, and it goes all the way back to the Middle Ages. It is one of those names that feels like it has always existed. Now you might think, a climbing plant, is that really such a meaningful thing? But consider what ivy actually does. It holds on. It reaches upward. It covers old stone walls and ancient buildings with something living and green. It is resilient, it is graceful, and it grows steadily over time. That is not a small thing. The name Ivy had a moment of real popularity in the early 1900s, and after a long rest, it has been finding its way back into hearts and homes again. There is something timeless about it that people keep rediscovering. Beyoncé and Jay-Z chose Ivy as part of their daughter's name. That is the kind of name you choose when you want something that feels both grounded and extraordinary. Ivy. Delicate and charming.
