Eva

Eva. What a name to carry through life. This name goes all the way back to ancient Hebrew, rooted in the Semitic word that means "giver of life." Think about that for a moment. Not just life in the ordinary sense, but the very source of it. The one who brings it forward. That is what your name says about you before you even speak a word. And Eva has been spoken across centuries and continents without ever losing its power. In Spanish you might meet an Evita, a name made famous by the legendary Eva Perón, whose story became one of the most celebrated musicals in history. In English you will find Eve, and the softer, sweeter Evie. All the same name, all carrying that same ancient meaning, just dressed a little differently depending on where in the world they landed. At its peak in the nineteen tens, Eva was everywhere, a name that defined a generation. And here is the beautiful thing, it never really went away. Eva is still popular today, which tells you something. A name that travels this far through time is a name that endures because it means something real. People who carry the name Eva are often described as confident and determined. The kind of person who moves through the world with a quiet certainty. Someone who knows her own mind. And if you celebrate a name day, mark December twenty-fourth on your calendar, because Eva belongs to Christmas Eve. There is something fitting about that, isn't there? A name that means giver of life, celebrated on the eve of one of the most joyful nights of the year. Eva. Ancient, elegant, and absolutely timeless.
