Cohen

Cohen. This is a name that carries real weight. Ancient weight.

Cohen comes from Hebrew, rooted in Biblical times, and its meaning is profound. It means "priest." In ancient Israel, the Kohanim were the priestly lineage, the people set apart to serve, to guide, to uphold something sacred for their entire community. This was not just a role. It was a calling passed through generations.

That history lives inside this name. Every time someone calls out "Cohen," they are, without knowing it, echoing thousands of years of tradition and purpose.

The name has several forms you will recognize. Kohen stays closest to the original Hebrew. Cohn and Kahan carry the same lineage through different paths across the world. All of them pointing back to that same ancient root.

And here is something remarkable. Cohen is growing right now. Its popularity has been rising through the 2020s, which means more and more parents are choosing this name and sensing, perhaps instinctively, that it carries something meaningful.

Then there is Leonard Cohen. Singer, poet, one of the most profound voices of the twentieth century. A man whose words touched something universal in people everywhere. His name, your name, became synonymous with depth and artistry and the kind of honesty that lasts.

The personality that tends to gather around this name is one of wisdom, compassion, and a genuine ethical core. Someone who thinks carefully. Who cares about doing things right.

Cohen. Born in Biblical times. Growing stronger today. A name that means something, and always has.
