Addyson

Addyson. What a beautifully modern name you carry.

Addyson is an American original, a name that only really began to take shape in the 1990s and then bloomed into something truly widespread in the 2000s and 2010s. And here is what makes it fascinating. It started out as a surname. A family name passed down through generations. And somewhere along the way, people looked at it and thought, this is too beautiful not to give to a daughter.

At its root, Addyson carries the old English meaning of son of Adam. And Adam, of course, goes all the way back to the very beginning of human story. So even in this fresh, contemporary name, there is something ancient quietly living inside it. A thread that connects the modern world to something much older.

Addyson sits in a wonderful family of names. You might also know it as Addison, the form that first made waves, or Adyson, each one a slightly different expression of the same spirit.

And that spirit? Energetic, sociable, someone who lights up a room and draws people in naturally. Those are the qualities people have long associated with this name.

There is even an Addyson on the screen, in the world of Pretty Little Liars, and real Addysons making their mark as athletes, performers, and artists.

So if this is your name, know this. You are carrying something that feels brand new and yet is quietly rooted in something timeless. That is a pretty wonderful thing to carry through the world.
